3 full days and 4 nights in Rome was exactly was I needed to knock everything off my list of things to see and do.
On my first day in Rome, I visited the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. The Colosseum was definitely the highlight of the day, maybe even the highlight of my visit to Rome. As for the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, it was really cool & interesting to look at to begin with, but after a while (a short while, that is), it just looked like rubble ;)
Here are some pics:
Trevi Fountain - Legend has it that if you toss a coin into the Fountain on your first visit, you will return to Rome. Well, I did that 11 years ago and here I was again, in Rome. The legend also says (according to my Ipod Rome Travel App) that a 2nd coin tossed into the Fountain means a romance with an Italian. I DID NOT toss a coin into the Fountain this time - nope nope nope. After my various encounters with Italian men, they are the last species on this earth that I would want a relationship with. Shiver me timbers, they creep me right out. I have countless stories of my encounters with Italian men that I could do multiple blogposts but I'd rather forget and move on. It really puts a sour note on my travel experiences in Italy.
Finally, on my 3rd day of sightseeing, I went to the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica. I also wanted to visit the Castel Sant Angelo, but it was closed :( I saw the outside at least! Here are the pics from my final full day in Rome:

I also managed to fit in the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps on Day 1. Here are the pics:

On Day 2, I spent the morning hanging out with one of my room mates - I was so thankful to hang out with a guy and not have to encounter any more creepy & very forward Italian men for the day! We went to the Pantheon, Piazza Barberini, Piazza Navona, Piazza Venezia, Largo de Torre Argentina and back to the Trevi Fountain. Later that afternoon, I went to Circo Massimo and walked along the Tevere River. Here are some pics:

What it looks like to wander inside the Vatican
Vatican - Tapestry of The Last Supper
Vatican - The artwork on the ceilings is magnificent. Hallway after hallway of impressive art. After a while, you stop looking so much because your neck hurts.

Where the Catholics are supposed to confess their sins to the Priest...the BOX.

Would you like some "holy water"? That would be €3.50 please.
